2016 Theme Round - Faerie Tales

12/14/15 - 03/14/16

Once Upon a Time, there was a group of artists that enjoyed creating for each other and receiving something wonderful from a friend or mysterious stranger. They have swapped original art, trading cards, and ornaments. In 2016, the first swap will be creating a piece of your choice, your voice, your medium, but using the theme "Faerie Tale" as your inspiration.

Artist Trading Cards 2015

06/08/2015 - 09/14/2015

Artist Trading Cards are like unique business cards for artists of all types. They are the size of a playing card (2.5 x 3.5 inches) and can be highly collectable, just like the baseball cards of your youth.

We are asking each participant to create nine Artist Trading Cards, which they will mail out to nine other artists. In return, they should receive nine cards from different artists who have registered.

Each of the artist's cards can be uniquely different or created exactly the same, as long as they have the artist's distinct style. Collage, quilt, paint, draw, doodle, etc. It's up to the artist!

Dates to remember:

  • June 8th - July 5th REGISTRATION

  • September 8th - SWAP PARTY in Springfield, Missouri @ Arts & Letters, 6pm to 8pm

  • September 14th - FINAL MAIL DATE

Queen City Art Swap 2015

02/01/2015 - 05/20/2015

The Queen City Art Swap is a way for artists to connect in 417-land and beyond. Participants filled out a questionnaire and were secretly paired with one another. Using the questionnaire, they created a new piece to mail to their partner.

We had over 50 participants in our first swap, and are lookiing forward to seeing the final pieces. We've asked artists to tag their works on social media using #queencityartswap2015.

Participation is currently closed for this swap, but we will be opening registration for our summer swap in June.
